The board of directors has launched the One SAFE Place Capital Campaign to raise $5,000,000 to create a space that expands the shelter and includes Client Services under one roof. By creating more space with privacy and easily accessible support services, One SAFE Place will provide help, hope and healing to hundreds more women, children and men each year. Fewer victims will need to be referred elsewhere and average stays will increase to the optimum 60-90 days of treatment and support.

  • OSP Names Andrea Schreder as McConnell Summit Coordinator

    One SAFE Place has named Andrea Schreder as Coordinator of the McConnell One SAFE Place, One Safe Community Summit. In September 2014, The McConnell Foundation pledged a $1 million dollar gift to the One SAFE Place Capital Campaign to serve as the permanent founding sponsor of this community initiative. The vision for the One SAFE Place, One SAFE Community Summit is to bring together talent from different disciplines within our local community to spur innovation and solve problems within the domestic violence and sexual assault service field.

  • March 8 is International Women's Day

    First observed on February 28, 1909 in New York, Women’s Day began as a strike of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. Banding together for better wages, better work environment and better treatment, these women participated in a Women’s rights movement. Although celebrated around the world every year, in 1977 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 8 as the official UN day celebrating women’s rights and world peace. Partly observed as a hybrid of Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, the day also expresses urgency in equality of women throughout the world.
